"Swedish Heritage: A Journey Through Time and Tradition"

Nordic museum

As part of our Swedish heritage journey in the youth project, participants visited the Nordic Museum (Nordiska Museet) in Stockholm on November 2 to explore the Nordic Life exhibition. This immersive experience offered young people a fascinating journey through the history, culture, and seasonal rhythms of the Nordic region, deepening their understanding of Swedish heritage.

Following the exhibition, the young participants gathered as a group to reflect on their experiences and exchange thoughts over traditional Swedish fika. During open discussions, they shared their impressions and inspiration, fostering a meaningful exchange of ideas.

The event left a lasting impression on everyone involved. Many expressed a newfound appreciation for Swedish and Scandinavian culture, along with a strong desire to continue exploring the rich history of the region.

Army Museum

On October 5th, we organized a visit to the Swedish Army Museum to explore the exhibition ”Crossroads: 1000 Years of Shared History Between Sweden and Ukraine.” This captivating exhibit offered a unique perspective on the historical ties between the two nations, spanning from the Viking era to the present day. Participants delved into archaeological findings, historical documents, and accounts of pivotal political and cultural events that have shaped these interconnected histories.

The event was thoughtfully curated to be both educational and engaging, fostering meaningful connections among attendees. Many participants expressed a newfound appreciation for the shared histories of Sweden and Ukraine and showed enthusiasm for uncovering further connections.

The visit highlighted how history can serve as a bridge to modern cultural exchange, promoting awareness and dialogue among young people. It underscored the power of education and cultural exchange in bringing people together, making history accessible, and inspiring curiosity about its relevance today.

After the exhibition, young participants gathered over a traditional Swedish fika to share their impressions and ideas, further enriching the experience.

Uppsala

On September 25, we officially launched our project in Uppsala. The day was filled with interactive activities, a tour of the student town, meaningful discussions about leadership and student life, and opportunities for our young participants to make new friends. They also learned how to navigate life in a student community and enjoyed a delicious lunch together.
